Alicante Airport to the city centre: bus, taxi or transfer
Three ways from the terminal to the centre of Alicante — how each one works, where to find it and where the official fares are published.

There are three ways from Alicante–Elche Miguel Hernández Airport to the centre of Alicante: the C-6 bus, which runs to the railway station and the city centre, a taxi from the rank on the arrivals roadway, or a private transfer booked before you fly. Which one suits you depends mostly on your luggage, the time you land and where exactly in Alicante you are staying.
Everything below was checked against Aena, the airport operator, which lists the bus lines and the official taxi service for the airport. Fares are set by the operators and the regional authorities and can change, so the official page for each option is linked underneath it.
C-6 airport bus
Line C-6 runs between the terminal and the centre of Alicante every day of the year, stopping at the railway station and other key points in the city. At the Alfonso X El Sabio and Plaza de los Luceros stops it connects with Alicante’s tram network.
- Where to find it
- At the bus stop on the departures roadway, outside the terminal.
- Fare
- The airport does not quote the fare. Current tickets and vouchers are listed on the Vectalia fares page it links to (below) — check it before you travel.
- Timetable
- The line runs every day of the year. For departure times, the airport gives an information line: +34 902 106 992.
- Best for
- Light luggage, and a hotel near the railway station or in the city centre.
- Good to know
- At Luceros the C-6 meets the TRAM network, whose lines run along the Costa Blanca to Benidorm and Dénia. From the same departures-roadway stop, Alsa runs a direct coach to Benidorm and a line to Calpe that stops in Alicante, Alfaz del Pi and Altea.
Taxi
The airport’s official taxi service is run by two companies, Radio Taxi Elche, with 85% of the fleet, and Servitaxi Elche. Official taxis carry a green stripe along the length of the vehicle and the coat of arms of Elche on the front doors, and both companies take bookings on their websites.

- At the taxi rank on the arrivals roadway, outside the terminal.
- Fare
- For journeys beyond the municipality of Elche, such as into Alicante, the meter runs on the intercity tariff set by the Generalitat Valenciana, plus an airport supplement of €4.25. Radio Taxi Elche’s website shows the price before you book.
- How to pay
- The airport does not publish payment methods for taxis. Ask the driver before you set off whether you can pay by card.
- Best for
- Going straight to your address when you have not booked ahead.
- Good to know
- Radio Taxi Elche has an information point in the arrivals hall, open from 09:00 to 01:00. The green stripe and the Elche coat of arms tell you the car belongs to the official airport service.
