Cagliari Elmas Airport transfers

Cagliari airport is at Elmas, on the edge of the Santa Gilla lagoon and unusually close to the city it serves. If you are staying in Cagliari itself, in the old Castello quarter or out at Poetto beach, the transfer is short. There is a rail link from the airport as well, but it only runs into the city, so for the coast resorts the road is the way.

The island is the part that catches people out. Villasimius and Costa Rei on the south-east coast are a drive of their own, Pula, Chia and the Costa del Sud lie the other way, and the Costa Smeralda in the north belongs to a different airport altogether. If you are booking a holiday described simply as Sardinia, check which coast it is on before you check the flight. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign, the price covers the whole vehicle and your luggage and is fixed when you book, and the driver follows your flight.
