Rhodes Airport to Rhodes Town: bus, taxi or transfer
Three ways from Rhodes Airport to Rhodes Town — how each one works, where to find it and when the bus runs.

Rhodes Airport lies on the west coast of the island, about 14 km south-west of Rhodes Town, and there are three ways to cover that distance: the municipal bus from the stop between the old and the new terminal, a taxi from the stand in front of Arrivals, or a private transfer booked before you fly. Which one suits you depends mostly on your luggage, the time you land and where exactly you are staying.
Everything below was checked against the airport operator, Fraport Greece, and the Municipality of Rhodes, whose bus company RODA runs the airport buses. Timetables change with the season and the published ones do not show fares, so the official page for each option is linked underneath it.
RODA bus
Buses run between the airport and Rhodes Town. They are operated by RODA, the Municipality of Rhodes’ transport company, which serves the town, its suburbs and the west side of the island; the airport services appear in its west coast timetable as Rodos to Airport and Airport to Rodos.

- At the bus stop between the old and the new terminal, according to the airport.

- Neither the airport nor RODA’s timetables publish the fare. For fares, call RODA on +30 22410 26300 or +30 22410 24129.
- Timetable
- RODA publishes separate timetables for Monday to Friday, Saturday, and Sundays and holidays. In the Monday–Friday timetable dated 17 August 2026, buses leave the airport for Rhodes Town from 06:50 until 00:45, and leave Rhodes Town for the airport from 05:15 until midnight.
- Best for
- Light luggage and a hotel in Rhodes Town.
- Good to know
- The Municipality’s free Rhodes Public Transport app, also available at mobility.rhodes.gr, shows estimated bus arrival times at stops.
Taxi
If you have not booked anything, you can take a taxi straight from the terminal. The airport operator says taxis are available at the airport and puts the taxi stand in front of Arrivals (T1).

- At the taxi stand in front of Arrivals (T1).
- How to pay
- The airport does not publish taxi fares or payment methods. Ask the driver before you set off how the fare is charged and whether you can pay by card.
- Best for
- Getting into town quickly when you have not booked ahead.
- Good to know
- Give the driver the full address of your hotel. Most lanes inside the Old Town walls are closed to vehicles, so hotels there are reached on foot from the nearest gate.

- Yes. KTEL Rodou, which runs the buses on the east side of the island, operates line 25 between the airport and Faliraki. Its timetable for 4 May to 30 September 2026 lists departures from the airport from 07:30 until 23:30, at €3.50 one way, paid in cash on the bus or with an e-ticket bought online.
