Girona Airport to the city centre: bus, taxi or transfer
Three ways from the arrivals hall into Girona — how each one works, where to find it and what the operators actually publish.

Girona–Costa Brava Airport lies 12.5 km south-west of the city, beside Vilobí d’Onyar, and there are three ways to reach the centre: a Sagalés bus from the stop outside the terminal, a taxi from the official rank, or a private transfer booked before you fly. There is no railway station at the airport — Aena’s pages for getting here cover buses, taxis and car only, so anyone planning to take a train has to reach Girona first.
Everything below was checked against the airport operator, Aena, and against Sagalés, the company that runs the airport bus lines. Fares and timetables belong to those operators and can change, so the official page for each option is linked underneath it. Where an operator does not publish a figure, this guide says so rather than guessing.
Sagalés bus
Sagalés runs the airport bus lines. Line 607, listed as Girona – Aeroport de Girona, links the airport with Girona bus station, and the same company operates the direct line to Barcelona city centre, which Sagalés says is coordinated with Ryanair arrivals and departures.
- Where to find it
- All buses leave from the airport bus stop outside the terminal. Line 607 runs between the airport and the Estació d’Autobusos de Girona, the city bus station.
- Fare
- Sagalés publishes airport fares to Barcelona city centre (€22.00), Lloret de Mar (€12.00), Blanes (€11.00) and Calella (€11.00). No fare for the Girona city route appears on that list — check the line 607 page before you travel.
- How to pay
- Online with a Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card, or by Bizum; in the Sagalés app; or on board in cash only — the driver cannot take cards and cannot give change for a note larger than €20.
- Timetable
- Sagalés publishes a timetable PDF for each line on its Girona Airport page. Its information and bookings line, +34 900 13 00 14, is open Monday to Sunday, 8.00 to 22.00.
- Best for
- Travelling light into Girona, or straight on to Barcelona or the southern resorts.
- Good to know
- Luggage travels free as long as no piece is larger than 100 × 60 × 25 cm; anything bigger is charged as an extra ticket. Two other lines start at the airport: 613 to Lloret de Mar and Tossa de Mar, and 604 direct to Barcelona. Line 605, Canet – Calella – Blanes, remains out of service.
Taxi
Taxis wait at the official airport stand outside the terminal and run on a taximeter for journeys to towns across the province and to Barcelona. It is the quickest option if you have not booked anything before landing.

- The taximeter sets the price. Urban fares apply inside the municipality of Vilobí d’Onyar; for every other journey, including Girona and Barcelona, the intercity fare approved by the Generalitat de Catalunya applies. Supplements may be added on top.
- How to pay
- Aena does not publish which payment methods airport taxis accept. Ask the driver before you set off whether you can pay by card.
- Best for
- Going straight into Girona when nothing is booked.
- Good to know
- Luggage is carried free of charge provided it fits in the boot or roof box. Every taxi must carry a complaints book for disputes over price, refusal of service or treatment; complaints go to the Servei Territorial de Ports i Transports de Girona.
