Split Airport to the city: shuttle bus, public bus, taxi or transfer

Four ways from the arrivals hall into Split — how each one works, where to find it and what it costs.

Split Airport lies at Kaštela, 20 km west of the city, and there are four ways into Split: the airport shuttle bus, the public bus line 37, a taxi from the rank by the terminal, or a private transfer booked before you fly. Which suits you depends on your luggage, the time you land and whether your address is inside the palace walls, where vehicles cannot go.

Everything below was checked against the airport operator, the shuttle operator the airport links to and Promet Split, the public transport company. Fares and timetables are set by those operators and can change, so the official page for each option is linked underneath it.

Airport shuttle bus

The airport runs a shuttle between the terminal and Split throughout the day, and links to its operator, Platanus, for tickets and the schedule. It is a direct service with no stops on the way, ending at the main bus station in the city — useful if you are carrying on to the islands, because the ferry port and the railway station are right beside it.

Where to find it: The airport gives the boarding point as the North parking lot and entrance; the operator describes it as parking zone P1, directly in front of the arrivals exit. In the city it terminates at the main bus station.
Fare: €10.00 one way and €15.00 return. Children under 6 travel free of charge.
How to pay: Online in advance, or at the operator’s booth in front of the bus, in cash or by card. Tickets are not sold by the driver on board.
Timetable: Departures follow the flights: a bus leaves roughly 30 minutes after each arriving flight, from the first of the day to the last.
Best for: Going straight to the bus station, the ferry port or the old town without changing.
Good to know: The ticket is valid for any departure on the day of travel, so if your flight is late or you miss the first bus you can take the next one.

Public bus (line 37)

Split Airport is a stop on Promet Split’s line 37, which runs between Split and Trogir in both directions. It is the cheapest way into either town, and it is a normal city bus: you buy a ticket and validate it on boarding, and the luggage travels with you rather than in a hold.

Where to find it: Line 37 is listed as Split – Airport – Trogir and Trogir – Airport – Split, with the airport as a stop on the way. The airport also states that there are public bus lines both to Split and to Trogir.
Fare: Promet Split publishes €3.00 for the airport to Split and €2.50 for the airport to Trogir. Those are the prices with a travel card, online or at a ticket office; the price list charges double for the same tickets bought from the driver, €6.00 and €5.00.
How to pay: Through the Promet Split app, or directly on board in any Promet Split bus. A contactless travel card, a ticket office or a ticket machine are the other channels in the price list.
Timetable: The line 37 timetable, valid from 8 September 2025, is published on Promet Split’s airport-line page, with separate columns for weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays and holidays.
Best for: The lowest fare, if you are travelling light.
Good to know: A single ticket runs for a set time from first validation: 120 minutes at the €3.00 level, 105 minutes at €2.50. Buying before you board halves the price.

Taxi

Taxis wait near the main terminal building, so a taxi is the quickest option if you have not booked anything. The airport marks the taxi point on its terminal map but publishes nothing about fares or operators, which is worth knowing before you get in.

Where to find it: Near the main terminal building, at the taxi point shown on the airport’s map.
How to pay: The airport does not publish taxi fares or payment methods. Agree the fare or check the meter before you set off, and ask whether you can pay by card.
Timetable: Taxi services are available during Split Airport operating hours.
Best for: A short hop to Trogir or Kaštela, or into Split when you have not booked ahead.
Good to know: Give the driver the full address. If you are staying inside the palace walls in Split, no vehicle can reach the door and you will be set down at the nearest gate.
