Dubrovnik Airport to the city: shuttle, bus, taxi or transfer
Four ways from the arrivals hall into Dubrovnik — how each one works, where to find it and what it costs.

Dubrovnik Airport is at Čilipi, which the airport puts 22.5 km from the city, and there are four ways in: the official airport shuttle bus, an ordinary Libertas service bus, a taxi from in front of arrivals, or a private transfer booked before you fly. Which one suits you depends on your luggage, the time you land and where you are staying — and on one local rule that catches people out, because no vehicle at all may enter the walled Old Town.
Everything below was checked against Dubrovnik Airport, the shuttle operator the airport names as official, and Libertas, the city and suburban bus company. Fares and timetables can change, so the official page for each option is linked underneath it.
Airport shuttle bus
The airport names Platanus as its official shuttle and says the bus leaves for Dubrovnik shortly after landing. It makes one stop at the Old Town, at the Ploče gate, and then continues to the main bus station in Gruž, which the operator puts 500 metres from the ferry port — useful if you are carrying on to the islands.
- Where to find it
- Just outside arrivals, near the main entrance to the airport — the operator tells passengers to look for the white post marked “Shuttle bus”.
- Fare
- €10.00 one way and €15.00 return. Children under 6 travel free.
- How to pay
- Online in advance, or at the operator’s booth in the arrivals area, where both card and cash are taken. Tickets are not sold on board.
- Timetable
- Departures follow the flights rather than the clock: a bus leaves about 30 minutes after every arrival, from the first flight of the day to the last, every day including weekends and holidays.
- Best for
- Reaching the Old Town or the ferry port without booking a car.
- Good to know
- The ticket is valid for any departure on the day of travel, so a late flight simply means the next bus. One suitcase is included and is stowed by the staff.
Libertas public bus
Libertas is the city and suburban bus company, and its ordinary service buses pass the airport on their way down the Konavle valley. The airport lists lines 11, 27 and 38 as travelling to and from the airport daily; on the Libertas timetable those are the Dubrovnik–Molunat, Dubrovnik–Vitaljina and Dubrovnik–Gruda services.

- The airport names lines 11, 27 and 38 as the ones serving it; Libertas publishes them on its suburban timetable for the east.
- Fare
- No airport fare is published. Libertas prices by area: in Konavle, the municipality the airport lies in, a one-way ticket to Cavtat is €4.00.
- How to pay
- The airport links to online ticket sales, and Libertas sells tickets at its own counters, including the one in Cavtat on +385 20 410 677.
- Timetable
- Departure times are in the suburban timetable for the east that Libertas publishes (linked below).
- Best for
- Travelling cheaply with light luggage when you are not in a hurry.
- Good to know
- These are everyday service buses rather than airport coaches, so there is no dedicated luggage hold. Line 10 runs between Dubrovnik and Cavtat, but the airport does not list it among the lines that serve the terminal.
Taxi
Taxis wait in front of the arrivals building, so a taxi is the quickest option if you have booked nothing. The airport publishes no tariff of its own: a price list is kept at the taxi information window in the same building, and drivers are obliged by law to give you a receipt.

- In front of passenger terminal building B (arrivals).
- Fare
- The airport does not publish fares. Check the price list at the taxi information window in terminal B, or call +385 (20) 640 100, before you set off.
- How to pay
- The airport does not say which payment methods taxis accept. Ask the driver before you get in whether you can pay by card.
- Timetable
- Taxi services are available during airport working hours.
- Best for
- Going straight to an address when you have not booked ahead.
- Good to know
- Drivers must issue a receipt for the journey — ask for one. For the Old Town a taxi can only reach a gate, because no vehicle may enter the walled city.

- A pre-booked private transfer or a taxi. With a transfer the vehicle is chosen in advance for your group and luggage, and the driver waits for you in the arrivals hall.
